If you’re someone who wants to play the gear the pros do, you’re in luck.
Callaway is releasing its limited-edition Apex TCB irons to the public on Friday, meaning you can game the same clubs as two-time major champion Xander Schauffele. The stock set features seven pieces (4 iron through pitching wedge) in a beautiful raw aesthetic along with a 1025 tour cavity back body with a 17-4 tour tuned face, giving you consistent spin control with every club in the bag.
Schauffele switched to the Apex TCB irons in 2024 and enjoyed a career year on the PGA Tour. The 30-year-old won two major titles, registered three runner-ups and posted 15 top 10s. His strokes-gained approach were a huge element of that success as he ranked inside the top five in the category with the Apex TCB irons in the bag.
Since Xander Schauffele put a TCB iron in play, his strokes gained in approach have significantly increased year over year. Now in 2024, he is top 5 in the world in strokes gained on the field, and has won two major championships with the new ’24 TCB Iron.
Schauffele has been playing the Apex TCB irons since 2021, however the set he used in 2024 has a raw steel finish that rusts over time. The clubs continue to feature a 1025 tour cavity back body and a 17-4 tour tuned face, with true Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 steel shafts coming standard.
The clubs also have a tungsten weight screwed to the back to promote a lower center of gravity, and have a shorter blade length, thinner topline and less offset than other Apex irons. If you’re a gamer, these clubs may be for you.
One other unique feature of this set is the inclusion of a 10 iron rather than the traditional pitching wedge. The 46-degree club has the same loft as a pitching wedge, but is stamped with a “10” rather than a “P.” Schauffele made waves when he debuted the club in Maui to start the season — and now you can do the same when you tee it up in your club championship.
