Cabot has finally opened the doors for Cabot Citrus Farms in Brooksville, Florida. After acquiring World Woods Golf Club in May of 2022, Cabot has spent the intervening years renovating the property and preparing it to join the other high-end locations in its portfolio. Citrus Farms, located 50 minutes from Tampa and 80 minutes from Orlando, is Cabot’s first U.S. destination.
The property features two renovated 18-hole golf courses, two unique shorter courses, luxury real estate and nightly accommodations, curated experiences and multiple amenities. The two 18-hole courses are Karoo, which features Bermuda fairways, large greens and multiple routes to the pin, and Roost, which showcases moss-draped trees and sandy soil. The Squeeze is a 10-hole short course with dramatic terrain and the Wedge is an 11-hole par-3 short course that features speakers and low-profile lighting that allows golfers to play after dark.
Citrus Farm’s amenities include comfort stations, a pro shop and a sporting club, as well as two gathering areas: the Porch, which offers games, food and beverages, and the Grange Hall, which serves as the clubhouse. It has indoor and outdoor seating areas, a coffee shop, bar, outdoor firepit lounge and a menu for varying appetites. Later this year the property will be adding a racquet club with tennis and pickleball and pool areas for both adults and families.
A variety of homes are available for purchase, from two- and four-bedroom cottages to two-story homes situated along the fairway of the 10th hole of the Roost course. Accommodations are also available for resort guests.
“The former World Woods Golf Club always stood out to me for its enchanting setting and dramatic elevation changes unlike anything I’d ever seen across the state of Florida,” said Ben Cowan-Dewar, CEO and co-founder of Cabot. “It has been an honour to reimagine this iconic site alongside our amazing team. We drew inspiration from the property’s rich history and natural beauty to create a destination that will bring people together through incredible golf experiences, outdoor adventures and a strong sense of community.”
Cabot has taken the extra step of enrolling all of its properties in Audubon International’s Platinum Signature Sanctuary certification program, and the entire Citrus Farms property falls under one certification umbrella.
