Busan has been ranked 67th in the “World’s 100 Best Cities to Live and Travel,” according to a global report by the consulting firm Resonance. This recognition was highlighted in a recent article by Forbes.
Busan earned high marks for its blend of natural beauty and modern infrastructure, being praised for its harmonious environment. The city has become increasingly attractive due to its vibrant cultural activities and international events.
In the global rankings, Seoul also made the list, placing 10th, while Busan was recognized alongside other major Asian cities like Beijing (18th), Taipei (42nd), and Osaka (45th).
The rankings were based on various factors, including economy, culture, and living environment. Busan was specifically noted for its role as one of the world’s top four container ports, highlighting its economic significance and its appeal as a destination for both business and leisure.
Tourism in Busan is also showing a strong recovery, with foreign visitor numbers reaching 90% of pre-pandemic levels. This success is attributed to the international tourism city project launched in 2021 and efforts to attract visitors through diverse initiatives.
Busan has previously been recognized as a top global travel destination by Trip.com and was the only Asian city selected by National Geographic in their list of “25 Breathtaking Travel Destinations and Experiences for 2023.” The city was also featured in The New York Times’ list of the most beautiful beach cities.
