GREENSBORO, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s golf team is eighth after two rounds at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Mercer at Great Waters Course in Greensboro, Georgia.
TEAM
- The Spartans are eighth, two strokes behind UAB and one in front of The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Wofford, at 38-over-par (614) after two rounds.
- UNCG shot 11-over-par (299) on Saturday, which was the fourth-best team round of the day.
- The Spartans are the fifth-best team on par-five holes at the tournament through two rounds. So far on par fives, UNCG is one-over-par with a 5.03 stroke average.
- UNCG is fourth with 110 pars after totaling 60 during the second round.
- Regarding the two other SoCon teams in the field, Mercer is now fifth at 28-over-par (607) and East Tennessee State is 15th at 57-over-par (633).
- The No. 26-rated Florida Gators remained in first after day two at 19-over-par (595).
INDIVIDUAL
- Junior Elle Burnette jumped from a tie for 42nd to a tie for 12th on Saturday by shooting a one-under-par (71) in the second round. She is now six-over-par (150). She is tied for sixth at three-over-par when competing on par-four holes in the tournament.
- Junior Julia Baeumken is now nine-over-par (153) after carding a two-over-par (74) on Saturday. She is tied for sixth after two rounds with 24 total pars.
- Sophomore Kasey McIlvaine is third on the Spartans now and is tied for 35th after shooting a five-over-par (77) to move to 11-over-par (155) overall. She leads the tournament on par-five holes at three-under par, averaging 4.5 strokes per par-five hole.
- Freshman Lulu Leetham is tied for 41st at 12-over-par (156) after shooting a five-over-par (77) on Saturday. She is tied for third in the tournament with 25 pars so far.
- Senior Ava Romfo is 15-over-par (159) after finishing eight-over-par (80) in the second round.
- Catie Craig of Western Kentucky leads on the player leaderboard at one-over-par (145).
