MANALAPAN, NJ — You may have heard of dance and fitness studios, but have you ever heard of a bounce fitness studio?
Local Studio Owner Katie Parrinello has. Parrinello, 28, said she started Bounce Studio NJ after traveling around the country to visit and test out other bungee studios in the US.
Her love for the activity led her to get a certification to open her own studio, and on March 23, she officially opened her doors to the Manalapan community.
“I’m here to be different, empower women and make fitness fun,” Parrinello said. “That’s my passion, and I aim to create a safe space for women to work out as well.”
At Bounce Studio NJ, the studio offers classes in everything ranging from kangoo jumps (rebounding boots) to rebound trampoline (mini trampoline workout) to bungee fitness (low-impact, high-cardio workout using resistance/bungee cords to fly).
Alongside the studio’s workout classes, Parrinello said they also offer yoga, aerial yoga and even offer bungee classes for kids.
“The community response has been overwhelmingly positive,” Parrinello said. “Everyone who’s tried it is loving it so far and the community has been very welcoming and helpful.”
More than anything, Parrinello said she hopes to empower women with her studio. Creating a space where women feel safe to work out and feel good about themselves is one of her main goals as Bounce Studio NJ’s founder.
“I have a quote in my studio that says ‘Life begins at the end of your comfort zone,’” Parrinello said. “I want women to gain confidence, feel good about themselves and create a better version of themselves.”
“It’s really about helping other women and empowering them,” Parrinello continued. “That’s the biggest motivator for me — just to help change lives. That’s why I’m here.”
