On Monday night, Bub Carrington came off the bench for the first time after starting his first two NBA games for the Washington Wizards.
However, coming off the bench, Carrington delivered his best game of his young professional career against the Atlanta Hawks. In 21 minutes, Carrington went four for five from the field, including three for four from three-point range en route to the Wizards first win of the season. Carrington finished with 13 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal, and only one turnover. The Wizards’ vets Kyle Kuzma, Jordan Poole, and Corey Kispert paved the way in the win over Atlanta.

Last week, PSN traveled down to D.C. to see Carrington’s first NBA game. The Wizards fell to the reigning champion Celtics, but Carrington started the game and made his NBA debut. Check out my thoughts from the day full of hoops in the nation’s capital at the link below.

While on the trip, Carrington gave me his thoughts on Pitt’s current roster and his expectations for this Panthers’ squad.

Carrington started 33 games for Pitt as a rookie, averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The Baltimore, Maryland native shot 41% from the field and 32% from three-point range in his freshman campaign, and alongside Jaland Lowe and Ishmael Leggett, starred for the Panthers in the back court.
Carrington went No. 14 overall in the most recent NBA Draft, making his way from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Washington Wizards via trade. Carrington was the first player drafted in the first round from a Jeff-Capel-led Pitt team.
