Will Lee III is one of the most underrated players in college football. Texas A&M has one of the most dominant defensive lines in football, but the cornerback hasn’t seen as much love. The 6-foot-2 cornerback has smothered some of the best receivers in the SEC.
Lee has all the makings of a quality NFL cornerback. He possesses rare length, speed, and swagger. Lee is nicknamed the blanket for his coverage skills. Lee is the boundary cornerback for the Aggies, where he’s left on an island.
Lee is a physical cornerback who loves to get his hands on receivers. He uses his strength to escort receivers to the sideline. He is aggressive and grabby, he’s been penalized a lot for holding and pass interference.
Lee is a fantastic athlete with great closing and deep speed. He can hawk down receivers in zone coverage and stick with them in man coverage. He must refine his technique to succeed at the next level.
He will face one of the toughest tests of the season when he faces Isaiah Bond and the Longhorns this weekend. The Browns should proactively find a future starting cornerback with Greg Newsome II and Martin Emerson Jr. entering the final year of their contracts. Lee has the perfect skill set for the Browns coverage philosophy.
