Bronny James’ run in the 2024 NBA Summer League has come to a close.
The 2024 second-round pick sat out the Los Angeles Lakers final game of the Summer League season, a 107-81 victory over the Chicago Bulls. James would play in the preceding four games of the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and one assist.
He showed vast improvement in his final two games, however.
During Wednesday’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, he scored 12 points while also adding a rebound and an assist. He followed this up with a 13-point performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers, chipping in five rebounds, three assists and a block as well.
James looked much more comfortable with the pace of play as the Summer League continued, and now he will look to translate that to some success during his rookie season with the Lakers in 2024-25.
He is notably the son and now teammate of 20-time All-Star LeBron James. They are set to become the first father-son duo in NBA history when the 2024-25 season begins.
Bronny James spent one season at USC in 2023-24, averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 25 games for the Trojans. He was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and will join first-round pick Dalton Knecht as the core of the team’s rookie class for next season.
