Bronny James scored 16 points in a 102-91 road loss to the Valley Suns in Tempe, Arizona, on Friday evening.
James, who is on assignment with South Bay, entered Friday on fire since returning to the team after suffering a bone bruise in his left heel that sidelined him a few weeks.
Last Sunday, James scored 16 points and grabbed four rebounds to help lead the Lakers to a 119-111 win over the San Diego Clippers.
Then James saved his best for his G League road debut on Thursday, dropping a career-high 30 points on 13-of-23 shooting in just 25 minutes in a 106-100 loss to the the Valley Suns.
James’ shooting cooled off Friday. He started 5-of-10 shooting but missed nine straight field goal attempts. James then hit a final three-pointer to finish 6-of-20.
Still, he did start well and even impressed with this circus shot that people praised.
Overall, James has been quite productive for the South Bay Lakers of late, averaging 20.7 points per game in his last three contests.
Fans praised his performance.
It’s unclear when James will play his next game. The G League Lakers don’t play again until Dec. 27 at the Cleveland Charge. The NBA Lakers have five games between then and now, so it’s conceivable James gets the call back to the main roster and sees a few minutes while the South Bay squad is off.
