NEW YORK | Farmingdale State College head coach Ryan Williams announced a new team member, signing 13-year old Brody Nadata through Team IMPACT.
Brody joined the squad at the beginning of the fall season and will participate in many activities with the team including practices, matches and other team events.
Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.
Brody is an 8th grader in the Half Hollow Hills School District. He says he is honored to be chosen by Team IMPACT and “so happy that they found me the perfect match!” Brody, along with his parents, came to his first practice on Wednesday, September 11th, and surprised the team with personalized ‘Go Rams’ donuts. “I’m really looking forward to spending time with the team, improving my swing and beating my Grandpa next time I’m in Florida.”
“Brody’s enthusiasm and positive attitude have already made a significant impact on our team” said coach Williams. “His presence brings a new level of energy and inspiration to our guys, and we’re excited to support him both on and off the course.”
