Comedians are losing their minds over the last month, it seems, but this latest offender sadly crossed the line, some say.

You may know Rob Schneider as the leading comedic actor in “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo” or as Gus Matthews from “The Benchwarmers” among a slew of rememberable roles throughout his 35-plus year career.

Well, the 60-year old is in hot water after convoluting the death of NBA all-time center and humanitarian Dikembe Mutombo, 58, with Schneider’s views on Covid-19.

“Rest in Peace… I’m sure this is just (another) coincidence,” Schneider wrote sarcastically on ‘X’ on Monday. “But I took a pass on the Jab and I’m gonna not let anyone I know (and who will Listen) get it either!

Sure, Schneider has the right to free speech. The problem is: Schneider reposted a video of Mutombo, who succumbed to brain cancer after being diagnosed two years ago, encouraging folks to get the Covid-19 vaccine in Dec. 2021 when the disease killed 1,260 Americans per day.

“We need to wash our hands, we need to educate each other, and we need to wear a ask. We cannot ignore the importance of wearing a mask,” Mutombo said. ” We have to be there for our children … The world is not the same as it was yesterday. A lot of things are changing. The only way we can move on to be healthy is by being vaccinated. We need to help each other make sure each one of us understand the importance of the vaccine so we can live in a better community.”

Schneider, who according to Wikipedia identifies as an Independent following trysts with the Democratic and Republican parties, is clearly a right-winger with a book to sell and agenda to push. Unfortunately, he isn’t the first of his ilk to use the passing of someone prominent who advocated for the vaccine to distort facts and drive their point home.

“Dikembe Mutombo passed away from brain cancer,” one ‘X’ user wrote via a repost of Schneider’s “tweet.” “Fortunately for Rob Schneider, he is immune from getting brain cancer, because one must possess a brain in order to have a chance of getting cancer in it.”
