Wisconsin had its 10-game win streak over Nebraska snapped on Saturday in the form of a 44-25 blowout loss.
The result is alarming enough. The final score, headlined by Nebraska’s 473 yards of total offense and six straight scores to close the game, adds even more fuel to that fire. While Wisconsin took No. 1 Oregon down to the wire in Week 12 and played well in a loss to Penn State in Week 10, it has now also lost to rivals Iowa and Nebraska by a combined score of 86-35.

The difference between those performances may be no coincidence. The Badgers battled with Penn State until the end, then appeared out of gas the next week at Iowa. The exact same pattern followed for the Oregon and Nebraska games, respectively.
The Iowa loss is one thing. While it was the Badgers’ worst loss to the Hawkeyes in more than 50 years, the Hawkeyes are a perennial eight or nine-win program. The loss to Nebraska is another. The result snaps Nebraska’s nine-game losing streak with bowl eligibility at stake. It feeds life to a program that has been in search of it for more than a decade.
Wisconsin fans were predictably upset after the game on Saturday. But the more notable comments came from former Badgers players. ‘Embarrassing’ is a word used by Isaiah Mullens (DL, 2018-22). Here is some of that reaction, including from program greats Braelon Allen and J.J. Watt:

RB Anthony Davis (2001-04)
