North Allegheny had four wrestlers competing in the PIAA West Regional that spanned over Friday and Saturday. Bradyn McConneha finished in fourth place, punching his ticket to the PIAA Individual Championships.
McConneha started the day with a 36-second pin of Jason Gardner of DuBois in the first round. He kept the momentum going in the quarterfinals winning by fall over Hayes Henry of Central Mountain. McConneha would fall in the semifinals but bounce back with a pin of West Allegheny’s Cam Danna to get to the third-place match. In the third-place match, McConneha would drop the bout to Philup Rearick of Armstrong to claim fourth place and a spot in the PIAA Individual Championships.
Gus Stedeford just missed qualifying for the PIAA Individual Championships with a sixth-place finish. Stedeford fell in the opening round before battling through the consolation bracket winning three straight matches over Gavin Jacobson of Punxsutawney (tech fall), AJ Snatchko from West Allegheny (decision) and Franklin Regional’s Chase Smith (decision) to get to the fifth-place match. Stedeford would fall to Nicholas Berrena of State College by injury default to finish in sixth.
Griffen Reid went 2-2 on the weekend while Mason Hartung went 1-2.

McConneha advances to the PIAA Individual Championship that will begin on Thursday and go through Saturday at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA.
