NEW DELHI: Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will continue their quest for milestones in the fourth Test match against Australia in Melbourne beginning on Thursday. The bowler is aiming for 200 Test wickets, while the seasoned all-rounder is also getting close to the 600-wicket mark in international cricket.
Bumrah is only six wickets away from becoming the 12th Indian bowler to reach 200 Test wickets. Bumrah has currently claimed 194 wickets at an average of 19.52 in 43 Test matches, with his best bowling stats being 6/27 and 12 five-wicket hauls.
Having taken 21 wickets in three games at an average of 10.90, including two five-wicket hauls and his best figures of 6/76, Bumrah is the series’ top wicket-taker thus far and has been incredibly consistent.
He has taken 53 wickets at an average of 17.15 in 10 Test matches against Australia, with three five-wicket hauls and top haul of 6/33.
Jadeja is just seven wickets away from reaching 600 international wickets, becoming him the fifth bowler from India to do so. He has taken 593 wickets at an average of 29.04 in 349 international appearances, with 17 five-wicket hauls and his best figures of 7/42.
He has a strong record against Australia even though he hasn’t taken any wickets in this series. He has taken 89 wickets at an average of 20.35 in 18 Test matches against them, with his best figures being 7/42. He has claimed a 10-wicket haul and five five-wicket hauls.
