Meredith became the first Washington County player in 16 years to win an MPSSAA state title, claiming the Class 2A-1A girls championship. She also won District 1 2A-1A, Central Maryland Conference and county girls titles, and had the low score of all players, boys and girls, at counties. Her nine-hole scoring average of 36.9 strokes was the county’s best. She wins this award for the second straight season.
Booth tied for the fourth-best nine-hole scoring average in the county at 43.3 strokes. His 84 in the CMC tournament tied for the fifth-best round by a county player in the event.
The most improved player in the county this season, Fuss shot a 79 to finish second in the CMC girls standings, and her 82 in the county tournament was second among girls and fourth overall. She ranked sixth in the county with a nine-hole scoring average of 43.8.
Jones won the CMC boys title with the best round by any player, boys and girls, a 71. He shot a 79 and a 77 to finish 10th in the state 2A-1A boys tournament. His 79 in the District 1 2A-1A championships was the second-best round by a county player in the event. He finished second in the county boys tournament, losing in a playoff after shooting an 81. He ranked second in the county with his nine-hole scoring average of 38.5.
Leisinger won the county boys title with a birdie on the fourth playoff hole after shooting an 81, and ranked fourth in the county with his nine-hole scoring average of 40.3. His 81 in the CMC tournament was the fourth-best round by a county player in the event, and his 83 in the District 1 4A-3A championships was the third-best round by a county player in the event.
Liriano tied for the fourth-best nine-hole scoring average in the county at 43.3 strokes.
McElroy ranked third in the county with his nine-hole scoring average of 39.0 strokes. He earned all-Mid-Atlantic Conference honors.
Montgomery ranked eighth in the county with his nine-hole scoring average of 43.9 strokes. His 82 in the CMC tournament was the fifth-best round by a county player in the event.
