WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — As part of the newly built Pete Dye Clubhouse on the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, Boilerhouse Prime will soon offer golfers and regular diners an American steakhouse experience on the edge of Purdue University’s campus.
The American steakhouse concept was developed by White Lodging, which will also oversee management of the property, a news release said, adding to its Purdue portfolio that includes The Union Club Hotel, 8Eleven Bistro, Boiler Up Bar, Leap’s Coffee and The Spa Union Club Hotel.
Here’s what you need to know about open positions and what to expect when the restaurant opens in early spring.
The restaurant is expected to open in March, the release said. A spokesperson for Boilerhouse Prime said a target opening date for the steakhouse isn’t known at this time.
Although diners can expect typical cuts of steak seen commonly on most steakhouse menus, Boilerhouse Prime will also offer American and A5 Japanese Wagyu beef. Many of the wagyu cuts, the release said, will be sourced from White Lodging’s Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming.
The steakhouse will also offer a raw bar, the release said, with premium seafood and a curated selection of classic cocktails, wines and bourbons.
Yes. Boilerhouse Prime will host hiring halls on Monday, Jan. 13, and Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 7 p.m., the release said. The hiring halls will be at the Union Club Hotel, 201 Grant St.
Multiple positions are open within both Boilerhouse Prime and the Pete Dye Clubhouse Bar and Grill.
Boilerhouse Prime will be led by general manager Shane Keaton, the release said, and executive chef Kevin Wemlinger.
Wemlinger comes to Boilerhouse Prime with over 30 years of fine-dining experience, the release said, including Morton’s The Steakhouse in Scottsdale, Arizona, and 1933 Lounge in Fishers, Indiana. Keaton is a veteran steakhouse leader with experience at Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment and Lighthouse Restaurant.
“The opportunity to introduce such a high-end steakhouse to this community is tremendous,” Keaton said in the release. “Diners should expect Boilerhouse Prime to deliver a level of experience and quality that meets, if not surpasses, the best steakhouses in the country.”
