Alabama football’s 2026 recruiting class lost one of its early commitments on Sunday, when cornerback Dorian Barney decommited. Barney announced the news on social media, in conjunction with Hayes Fawcett of On3.
“GodGotMe,” Barney said in a post.
Barney is ranked as a four-star prospect at corner according to 247Sports’ composite ratings. He’s listed as the No. 10 player in the class at that position, No. 84 overall.
He committed to Alabama in May. Barney recently took a visit to Texas A&M according to his social media.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound corner plays his high school football at Carrollton in Georgia. He holds a plethora of offers, including TAMU, Auburn and Colorado.
Barney’s departure leaves Alabama with one commitment in the 2026 class. Parker’s Vodney Cleveland committed to the Crimson Tide in October, and is ranked as a four-star defensive line recruit.
Meanwhile, the Tide’s 2025 recruiting class is doing just fine. Kalen DeBoer’s first full class is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation according to the 247Sports, after leapfrogging Ohio State, which held the top spot down for months.
