SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – One of the region’s premier golf clubs celebrated a birthday on Tuesday.
The Blackthorn Golf Club had a luncheon to celebrate 30 years of being open.
The luncheon honored 30 years of exceptional golf and community engagement. The event highlighted the club’s history and allowed guests to hear influential figures from within the club.
The luncheon was followed by a golf outing that featured several challenges, such as the hole-in-one competition, driving competition and more.
“I think that Blackthorn has really established itself as one of the best golf courses in the Midwest,” said owner Tim Firestone. “It has a great reputation in Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit, as well as a local amenity for our community to have and have such beautiful golf courses and conditions that are second to none. And we pride ourselves on being affordable and accessible to almost everybody in the local community.”
The event also featured a silent auction, with proceeds going toward the First Tee of Michiana.
