Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has once again been named to the NFL Top 100 list, falling out of the top ten and landing at number 12 for the 2024 season. Allen drops four places from his eighth-place ranking in 2023 despite another dynamic season quarterbacking the Bills to their fourth-consecutive AFC East title. Joining left tackle Dion Dawkins — who made the list for the first time in his career, coming in at 96 — they’re the only Bills players to appear on the NFL Network’s annual top-100 list.

Barring someone entering the picture completely out of left field, all signs point to just two quarterbacks finishing above Allen: Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

There is perhaps no other dual-threat quarterback as lethal as Allen. Last season Allen threw for 4,306 yards with 29 touchdowns, adding 111 carries for 524 yards with 15 rushing touchdowns. His rushing touchdown mark matched quarterback Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, giving each a share of both first among quarterbacks and second overall among all NFL rushers

Perhaps detrimental to Allen’s ranking this year were the amount of turnovers observed by others. His 18 interceptions and seven fumbles in 2023 have served to fuel the fires that ignite often misinformed and false narratives.

Try to find an NFL quarterback with more total touchdowns since 2019. There isn’t one — and he’s 23 scores ahead of QB2 on that list. His name? Mahomes. Follow that up by researching the NFL quarterback with the lowest turnover percentage in during the playoffs. Spoiler alert: It’s Allen.

What Josh Allen doesn’t have is an AP NFL MVP award, nor a single Super Bowl appearance. He also doesn’t have Stefon Diggs at wide receiver. Will all of that and the continued doubts allow for Allen to have a season for the ages in 2024? Time will tell, but we already know how general manager Brandon Beane feels about JA17.
