The 72-year-old Belichick, considered to be perhaps the greatest coach in NFL history, being hired to coach the University of North Carolina football program was positively stunning news on Wednesday.
It’s not exactly like Rodney Dangerfield going “Back to School,” but … for a guy who spent 24 years in New England as intent on winning Super Bowls as he was cultivating his monotone-boring persona, Belichick sure has been letting his hair down for the past year.
The man who was famously “on to Cincinnati’’ during his droning-on days as the Patriots head coach, winning six Super Bowls along the way, has been on a bender.
