Bill Belichick has a new job. He’s keeping several of his old ones.
It’s already been announced that he’ll continue to appear on the ManningCast and Pat McAfee’s show in 2025. Via Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post, Belichick is expected to finish the year with Inside the NFL.
He will, per Glasspiegel, address his status on this week’s episode of the show, which is televised by The CW.
The ratings for Inside the NFL, which at one point was appointment viewing for NFL fans, are not great. Earlier this year, it was moved from Friday night to Wednesday night in an effort to goose the audience.
In its heyday, Inside the NFL gave football fans something they couldn’t get anywhere — deep-dive highlights and analysis of the prior week’s games. Now, it doesn’t sufficiently distinguish itself from the other viewing and listening options, even with Belichick’s presence.
It doesn’t help that Belichick has taken on umpteen media jobs for 2024. When you can hear him in a bunch of different places, none of them become destination viewing.
Like Inside the NFL once was.
