The odds makers suggest Friday night’s rivalry matchup between Michigan and Michigan State will be very exciting. But we also already knew that would be the case.
Michigan State heads to rival Michigan on Friday night for a nationally televised matchup. The battle between the Spartans and Wolverines will not only be for bragging rights, but will also be for first place in the Big Ten title race with two weeks to go.
Michigan State comes into this matchup off back-to-back impressive wins against Illinois and Purdue. The Spartans are 21-5 and 12-3 in Big Ten play this year.
Michigan has been especially hot as of late with six straight wins to move into first place in the league. The Wolverines are 20-5 overall and 12-2 in conference games this year.
Michigan State comes into this game as a slight underdog in what should be a tightly contested matchup.

It’s always so hard to predict how a rivalry game is going to go when its two relatively equal teams. That’s exactly what we have here with two very good squads. Ultimately, I think this is a close game throughout with both teams going on runs, but in the end its the home team that’ll make more winning plays for the victory. I expect the same type of game at the Breslin Center in a few weeks too.
Prediction: Michigan State 72, Michigan 78
The Michigan State vs. Michigan game starts at approximately 8 p.m. ET on Friday and can be seen on FOX.
