WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University’s first-ever women’s golf season will continue Sunday and Monday with the Falcons competing in the Northeast-10 Championships. A total of six teams will participate in the two-day, 36-hole event that will be held at the Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton.
First-round action is scheduled for a noon start and the second-round will get underway at 7:30 am Monday.
Coach David Scholnick has entered a lineup that includes four freshmen. The only upperclassman is junior co-captain Jillian Miles (Rutland, Vt./Vermont Academy).
Bentley’s top golfers during the first two tournaments have been freshmen Tanya Chowdary (Belle Mead, N.J./Wardlaw Hartridge School) and Alexandra Kwon (Westford/Westford Academy). Chowdary has an 86.0 stroke average and Kwon is a close second at 86.8.
Franklin Pierce University will be looking for its fifth championship in the last six seasons. The Ravens feature defending conference champion Kesinee Prumathakul.
Two tournaments are on next month’s Bentley schedule, the Saint Anselm Fall Invitational Oct. 7-8 and Hartford’s Battle at Bull’s Bridge Oct. 27-28.
