WALTHAM, Mass. – The second tournament of the fall season for the Bentley University men’s golf team is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday with the Falcons competing in the Granite State Invitational at the Beaver Meadow Golf Club in Concord, N.H.
Bentley opened the season last week by placing fifth among nine teams in the tightly contested Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational. Only eight strokes separated the top six teams and coach Iain Highsmith’s team posted the event’s best day two score, 293.
Senior Chris Huban (Cohoes, N.Y./Albany Academy) had an impressive showing with his 72-71-143 good for a fourth-place tie. They were the best two rounds of his collegiate career.
Classmate Evan Desjardins (Salem, N.H./Salem HS) also had a strong showing with his 73-75-148 good for a tie for 15th place in the 62-player field. He’s shot 75 or better during eight of his last 11 rounds.
Bentley will also be in New Hampshire Sept. 22-23 for the Southern New Hampshire Penmen Invitational in its final competition before the Oct. 7-8 Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
