The Cincinnati Bengals have had a busy week when it comes to NFL fines, whether it’s new letters from the league office docking pay or appeals won.
Next up is Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the NFL hit him with a big $22,511 fine for unnecessary roughness.
The infraction occurred during Cincinnati’s Week 18 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers when Pratt lowered his helmet while making a tackle on Steelers running back Najee Harris.
In slow motion, at least, Pratt could have raised his head while making the tackle. But it’s never that cut and dry in real speed, so it will be interesting to see what the NFL rules if and when Pratt makes an appeal.
