This will be Golden’s first job as an NFL coordinator. He spent two seasons on head coach Zac Taylor’s staff in Cincinnati, as a linebackers coach in 2020 and 2021 prior to taking the Notre Dame job in 2022. Before that, he spent time on both sides of the ball (linebackers and tight ends) as an assistant coach with the Detroit Lions, from 2016 to 2019.
Golden was also the head coach at Temple (2006-2010) and Miami (2011-15), after working his way up as a college assistant since the mid-1990s at various stops.
