At the end of the previous season and the Euros, Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané was known to be playing through injury which meant he couldn’t function at full capacity. Lackluster performances were the fruit of that rather bold decision from the 28-year-old, but he’s now recovering well after starting off the season working his way back to fitness.
“I feel fit, everything is going as planned so far. I was able to join in with the first team training sessions. It went well, I had no problems, and I hope that it continues like that”, Sané said (via Bayern’s official website). The injuries that Sané had bugged him for the most part of this calendar year kept coming back because they had presumably not healed properly.
“We have deliberately left it open to give me the time, until I can say that everything feels perfect,” explained Sané. “We are on the right track. We’ll see when the time comes.”
