PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Florida Highway Patrol says two teen girls were hit by a pickup truck Tuesday night.
According to FHP, a truck hit a golf cart at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, resulting in the teen girls sustaining critical injuries. The report details the truck was traveling in the westbound lane of Wahoo Road while the girls were also traveling west.
Authorities say, the truck crossed the centerline and into the opposing lane, causing its front end to hit the front of the golf cart. The golf cart continued traveling east until resting in the westbound lane of Wahoo Road, facing west while the truck was moved from the road before the arrival of authorities.
According to FHP, the pickup truck driver received minor injuries and was arrested for DUI, causing serious bodily injury.
Bay County EMS, Bay County Fire Rescue, and Bay County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
