MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Fans of all generations came out to celebrate the home opener of the Memphis Grizzlies 30th anniversary season.
Fans patiently waiting for the gates to open outside FedEx Forum talked with Action News 5 about their excitement to see the Grizzlies superstar roster back again.
“The energy is amazing,” says Zesiree Gullett, a fan from White Hall, Arkansas. “I brought my son Dominic for his first Memphis Grizzlies game. He’s a big Ja Morant fan.”
A big draw for the younger fans at the game was seeing superstar Ja Morant back on the court.
“I like Ja Morant because he can dunk on LeBron James,” says Brian Bowles, who came to the game with his mother and two younger siblings.
While fans were waiting at the Big River Steel Plaza, they were treated to live stage music courtesy of Corey and Da Village.
The first 10,000 fans in attendance also got a Grizzlies Classic Edition Reversible Bucket Hat.
The Grizzlies will be playing at home for the next three games on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
