LAKE PLACID — The 46th annual Barfly Open Golf Tournament drew a record number 62 teams totaling 124 golfers on Sept. 10. The best of them all was the two-man scramble team of Dennis Gallagher and Mike Martineau, who posted a four under par 67 on the Lake Placid Club Links Course. The minimum handicap total for each team was 20.
The event benefited the Tri-Lakes Humane Society. The society is a local animal shelter that provides dog control services, food pantry services, loving animal care and shelter to all the homeless companions.
In the mixed division, Tom and Liz Meldrin were victorious shooting one over par, while in the women’s bracket, the duo of Sue Devlin and Cherie Muhler recorded the same one over par score en route to the title.
All donated monies go directly to feeding, sheltering and giving medical care to animals in need.
