According to a recent report from SPORT, it has come to light that the Barcelona board remains firm in their stance regarding the January transfer window.
It is said that despite the team’s recent dip in form in La Liga, the club’s leadership has decided there will be no new signings during the winter market.
This decision stems from both economic constraints and their belief that the current situation is far more stable compared to last season.
The poor results in recent weeks have raised concerns among fans, but the board and manager Hansi Flick remain confident.
They view the team’s performance and overall approach as much improved, even if the results have not fully reflected that progress.
For now, the club is sticking to its carefully crafted plan, which does not involve making impulsive changes mid-season unless unforeseen circumstances, like a significant injury, force their hand.
Flick himself does not believe that the January market is the right time to strengthen the squad. Furthermore, he has not made any requests for reinforcements, as he feels it is challenging to find a player during this window who could genuinely elevate the team.
Instead, the club’s focus lies elsewhere.
Sporting director Deco is prioritising the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. Both players are expected to be officially registered within the coming week. Beyond that, no further activity is anticipated.
Barcelona are not planning to offload any players either unless an extraordinary offer arrives for someone who is not currently a key part of the squad. So far, no such offers have materialised.
Looking ahead, the club is prepared to make significant moves in the summer transfer window if necessary.
For now, however, they are betting on the quality and depth of their current roster to turn their fortunes around in the ongoing campaign.
