Quarterback Baker Mayfield had a big day to propel the Buccaneers to victory over the Chargers on Sunday and now he’s been recognized for his performance.
Mayfield has been named NFC offensive player of the week.
Mayfield had one of his best games this season, completing 22-of-27 passes for 288 yards with four touchdowns and one interception in the victory. He also rushed for 25 yards on two carries and was sacked just once.
This is Mayfield’s fifth career player of the week award.
Through 14 games, Mayfield has now completed 70.8 percent of his throws for 3,617 yards with a career-high 32 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
In first place in the NFC South, the Bucs will be on the road this weekend to face the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
