It is time for the men’s singles semi-finals at the 2025 Australian Open, so here is all you need to know as Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner top the day 13 order of play.
The men’s singles semi-finals is also not the only action taking place on day 13 at Melbourne Park, with the Rod Laver Arena holding the final for the mixed doubles tournament, too. The women’s doubles semi-finals will also hit the Margaret Court Arena over a busy day 13 slate.
ATP Tour world No1 Sinner will cap the day 13 order of play with his men’s singles semi-final against the world No20, Ben Shelton. The Italian is bidding to reach back-to-back Australian Open finals after Sinner won his first Grand Slam title at Melbourne Park to kick off his 2024.
No one has won more Australian Open titles than Djokovic, though, and the world No7 has largely cruised into the 2025 semi-finals in search of the Serbian’s 11th crown Down Under. Now, the world No2 Alexander Zverev stands in Djokovic’s way of contesting his latest final.

Zverev has matched his career-best run at an Australian Open in 2025 by reaching the semi-finals, having lost in the semis in 2020 and 2024. He made the final four in 2025 after Zverev beat Tommy Paul 7-6, 7-6, 2-6, 6-1, as rival Djokovic beat Carlos Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.

The 2025 Australian Open semi-final tie between Djokovic and Zverev on day 13 marks their 12th career meeting on the ATP Tour. Djokovic enjoys an 8-4 win-loss record against Zverev ahead of their encounter at Melbourne Park, including winning their last tie in August 2023.

Sinner defeated Alex de Minaur 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 to kick the home favourite out of the Australian Open in the quarter-finals, and set up a semi-final against the world No20 after Shelton beat Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 for the American to make the last four at Melbourne Park.
Their Australian Open semi-final encounter is Sinner and Shelton’s sixth career meeting thus far on the ATP Tour with the Italian holding a 4-1 win-loss record so far. Sinner has even won each of their last four matches, including at a Grand Slam with a win at Wimbledon in 2024.
