Australia — the two-time defending FIBA Asia Cup champion — continues its quest towards a third title as qualifying resumes on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The Boomers sit atop Group A after two domineering victories in the first qualifying window. Australia took care of business against Korea and Indonesia, with Nick Kay (17.5 points per game) and Dejan Vasiljevic (13.5 points per game) leading the way.
Kay and Vasiljevic headline an experienced Boomers’ roster in the second window, with 31-year-old Jacob Chance getting his first crack as head coach.
Australia previously won the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup, as well as the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup. Before 2017, the Boomers had not competed in the Asia Cup.
