Aussie tradies only have a few days before applications close on a raft of jobs with big pay cheques. While that might sound enticing, it does come with a catch.
Carpenters, electricians, plumbers and several other trades are in desperate need for the Australian Antarctic Program (AAP). The contracts last from six months to more than a year and you could be pocketing a hefty sum for your hard work.
“The AAP’s vision is to ensure Antarctica is valued, protected and understood. Working with the AAP provides a unique opportunity to experience Antarctica and the Southern Ocean, while supporting world-leading science,” the Program said on its website.
“The AAP aims to support expeditioner growth, professionally and personally, with a focus on wellbeing.
“We strive to employ versatile, proactive and community-minded people. Expeditioners will need to contribute to a small team and be resilient as they face the challenges of living in an isolated environment.”
