The Vikings and NFL are backing the program with $140,000 in funding to get the league up and running.
“When they proposed this idea and just said ‘We’re gonna help you.’ In not just monetary ways, but scheduling, and these media things, and just really helping us get it off the ground. To be partnered with a big organization like the NFL is just huge for Augustana University and it’s huge for the women who are gonna play on this team for us,” said Women’s Flag Football Head Coach Kiley Coyne.
Teams will hit the field next month in a series of jamborees before the championship tournament on April 26 at TCO Stadium in Eagan, Minnesota.
