This week’s 500 level events in Basel, Switzerland and Vienna, Austria will feature two of the game’s most liked players for potentially the last time.
In Basel, the 500 level event will feature Stan Wawrinka playing in his home-country for poetically the last time. The 39-year-old, who owns three Majors, is currently ranked No. 236 in the world. He was ranked as high as No. 3 in 2014.
In Vienna, former US Open winner Dominic Thiem will be playing his home event for the last time. Riddled with injuries throughout the last few years, Thiem is currently ranked No. 275 in the world.
This year’s Wimbledon winner Barbora Krejcikova will be on hand for the 500 level event in Tokyo, Japan.
Winning her second-career Major earlier this year, Krejcikova will be joined by top seed Jessica Pegula, Naomi Osaka and Olympic Gold Medalist Qinwen Zheng.
The 250 level event in Guangzhou Open in China, will showcase Magda Linette and defending champion Xiyu Wang.
