The ATP Tokyo Open 2024 is all set for an exciting close in what has been a fantastic week of tennis. The final sees two Frenchmen set to battle it out for the trophy with important ranking points up for grabs as well. Expect a hard fought battle with great tennis action.
Head to head – Fils 0-3 Humbert
It was probably fitting to see these great players battle it out once again this year. Arthur Fils is currently ranked 24 in the world and at just 20 years old, Fils has had a great season, adding a title to his name already this year. While he has has slightly lost form post Wimbledon, this week is a breath of fresh life into his 2024 season. He has looked impressive throughout this week and has fought brilliantly when it has mattered the most.

Similar to Fils, Ugo Humbert did fall off the brilliant season he was having in 2024 post Wimbledon but this week has been a dominating week for Humbert. The 26 year old has steadily climbed up the rankings and will look to finish in the top 15 in what would be a fantastic end to his season.
Coming to this match, they have already played each other thrice with Humbert winning all of them in a pretty lopsided head to head thus far. The contrast in game styles is pretty evident with Fils willing to hang back on the baseline and Humbert pretty adept with serving big and approaching the net. Expect that to prove pivotal as the courts in Tokyo generally play faster than average tour speed. Fils to give it his all but Humbert’s superior first strike tennis should help him emerge victorious and win his third title of the year.
Prediction: Humbert in 3
