Goffin – de Minaur: Time TBA
H2H: 0-5
David Goffin has lost six straight matches. His last win was over three months ago in Basel. So far this season, David has played four tournaments and lost every time in the opening round. Two weeks ago in Melbourne, Goffin lost in the opening round of the Australian Open against Bonzi in straight sets, as we predicted. This week in Montpellier, David lost against Kovacevic in three sets. Last year in Rotterdam, Goffin successfully qualified for the main draw tournament. He lost in the second round against de Minaur in easy straight sets.
Alex de Minaur has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Melbourne, Alex reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, losing against Sinner in straight sets, as we predicted. This week, Alex helped Australia win against Sweden, winning against Mikael Ymer. Alex is the third seed this week in Rotterdam. Last year in Rotterdam, Alex finished as a runner-up, losing against Sinner in the final in straight sets.
According to the bookies, de Minaur is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree. David is in terrible form at the moment. When they faced each other last year in Rotterdam, Alex easily demolished Goffin in straight sets. We expect a similar outcome next week as well. Goffin has no weapons for de Minaur’s game, and we believe Alex will win easily in straight sets.
That said, de Minaur winning in straight sets is a value bet.

Alcaraz – Van de Zandschulp: Time TBA
H2H: 2-1
Carlos Alcaraz has won four of his last five matches. So far this season, he has played in just one tournament. Two weeks ago in Melbourne, Alcaraz lost against Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in four tight sets. He is the second seed next week in Rotterdam, which is also his first appearance in Rotterdam. Carlos usually underperforms on indoor hard courts.
Botic Van de Zandschulp has lost four straight matches. He was given a wild card next week in Rotterdam. Van de Zandschulp had a disappointing 2024 season. The former world number 22 is outside the top 80 rankings. He needs to start winning to get back into the top 50. It is his eighth appearance in Rotterdam. Last year in Rotterdam, Botic lost against Sinner in the opening round. He has never made it past the second round in Rotterdam.
According to the bookies, Carlos is the big favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Botic has been disappointing this season so far. His last win was over two months ago. We expect Carlos to dominate in this match and win easily. The last time they faced each other on indoor hard court was in Basel in 2022. Carlos won that match in straight sets easily. We expect a similar outcome next week as well.
That being said, Alcaraz covering the games handicap is a value bet.
