Day 3 at the last ATP Masters 1000 of the year in Paris-Bercy will feature the conclusion of the second round, with some of the top seeds making their tournament debut, including world #3 Alexander Zverev. It is sure to feature plenty of high quality and exciting matches, with the fast courts in the Parisian capital providing a different kind of tennis to the one we get to watch most of the season.
Head-to-head: Rinderknech 1-0 Michelsen
On paper, this should be one of the tighest matches of the day; both players scored surprising wins in the first round, even if Rinderknech’s benefitted from a Machac retirement. Going forward, Michelsen seems to have far more upside, but at this point in their respective careers it should be quite a close matchup and Rinderknech has the home advantage. It should a match decided by small details here and there.
Prediction: Michelsen in 3
Head-to-head: Rune 1-1 Bublik
Bublik has been on a really bad string of results, even if he finally snapped his losing streak against Fognini in the first round here. Rune has been having quite a disappointing here himself, but he will be hoping to find his form again in the stage where he achieved his biggest success so far two years ago. He has shown to be quite a dangerous player on an indoor hard court and should pull through here.
Prediction: Rune in 2

Head-to-head: first meeting
Both players have been in amazing form lately, with Mpetshi Perricard winning six matches in a row without dropping serve to win Basel and the first round here against Tiafoe. Meanwhile, Khachanov, a former champion at this tournament, won Almaty and then reached the final in Vienna. It should be a very close match, decided by tiebreaks, one that could genuinely go either way.
Prediction: Khachanov in 3
Head-to-head: Zverev 5-1 Griekspoor
Zverev won all three meetings the pair had this year, but the last two were won by the skin of his teeth, in the deciding set tiebreaker. At Roland Garros, Griekspoor was actually a double break up in the deciding set. It is very clear that he has the game to trouble Zverev, who will likely prevail again but is unlikely to have an easy match here.
Prediction: Zverev in 3
