Speaking of Berrettini’s recent ventures, he joined Saudi Arabia’s $930 billion Public Investment Fund earlier this week. During the announcement on PIF’s social media, he stated, “Partnerships in tennis are everything. The team around me is so important. Instead of letting setbacks defeat him, Berrettini faced every challenge head-on and fought his way back to the top. His resilience culminated in a heartfelt letter to the sport.
Many would remember the shocking moment when Berrettini was wheeled off the court at the 2023 US Open after rolling his ankle during a second-round match. This injury was just one of many challenges for the 28-year-old, who also dealt with a torn oblique muscle and surgery on his right hand, forcing him to miss the entire clay-court swing, including Roland Garros. Despite these hurdles, Berrettini found success, as he poignantly put it in a recent ATP video, “I think everything, if we can call it bad, that happened was worth it because it has led me here to enjoy you, your fullness.”
