Jarry – Kachmazov: 22.09.2024 07:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Nicolas Jarry has won one of his last five matches. Here in Chengdu, Jarry won his opening match against Klein as we predicted. Nicolas struggled with injuries this season, which is the main reason why he underperformed for the last couple of months. His last win on the hard court was in Miami, in March. So far this season, Jarry has not had any remarkable results. His biggest result was reaching the final in Rome, where he lost against Zverev in straight sets.
Alibek Kachmazov is an upcoming Russian talent. He has won four of his last five matches. Kachmazov fought through the qualifying tournament here in Chengdu. Alibek won both of his qualifying matches in straight sets. In his opening match, Kachmazov defeated Kovacevic in tight straight sets. He lost his serve only once, which was in the second set. However, Alibek won almost all the important points of the match, and closed out the match. After that, Kachmazov defeated Daniel in the second round, and showed how talented he is.
According to the bookies, Jarry is the slight favorite in this matchup. We believe that his experience will prevail in this match. On the other hand, Kachmazov showed solid tennis as well, but we believe that he will fumble under pressure.
That being said, Jarry winning is a value bet.

Musetti – Mannarino: 22.09.2024 08:30 CEST
H2H: 0-1
Lorenzo Musetti has won three of his last five matches. Here in Chengdu, Lorenzo defeated O’Connell in three tight sets as we predicted. Lorenzo was a better player under pressure, and won deservingly. Musetti is still a top 20 player, and he is looking for some decent results in the next couple of weeks to cement his top 20 status. So far this season, Musetti has not had any remarkable results on the hard courts. Last year in Chengdu, Lorenzo reached the semifinals, where he lost against Safiullin in straight sets.
Adrian Mannarino has won three of his last five matches. This has been the worst season for Mannarino, who had been struggling throughout the whole year. Mannarino is on the verge of dropping outside the top 50. Here in Chengdu, Adrian won his opening match against Atmane in three sets. After losing the first set through the tiebreak, Mannarino stepped up his level, and turned the match around. In the second round, Adrian had it hard against the Chinese player, Zhou, as we predicted. Mannarino won that match in three tight sets.
According to the bookies, Lorenzo is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Mannarino showed nothing special here in China. On the other hand, Lorenzo had some solid results this season, and we believe that he will be confident coming into this matchup.
That being said, Musetti winning in straight sets is a value bet.
