Kachmazov – Daniel: 20.09.2024 07:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Alibek Kachmazov is an upcoming Russian talent. He has won three of his last five matches. Kachmazov fought through the qualifying tournament here in Chengdu. Alibek won both of his qualifying matches in straight sets. Today, in his opening match, Kachmazov defeated Kovacevic in tight straight sets. He lost his serve only once, which was in the second set. However, Alibek won almost all the important points of the match, and closed out the match.
Taro Daniel has lost four of his last five matches. His last win before ATP Chengdu was over a month ago in Montreal, where he failed to qualify for the main-draw tournament. Taro lost his opening match at the US Open against Schoolkate. Daniel struggled this season, and did not have any remarkable results, which led to him being almost outside the top 100. Here in Chengdu, Taro won his opening match against Sonego in straight sets as we predicted. His biggest result was at the beginning of the season, when he reached the final in Auckland, losing against Tabilo in straight sets.
According to the bookies, Daniel is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. He showed great tennis in his opening match against Sonego. Kachmazov is a tour level player, and we believe that he will struggle against Daniel, who is way more experienced.
That being said, Daniel winning is a value bet.

Mpetshi Perricard – Hanfmann: 20.09.2024 08:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has lost four of his last five matches. The last match he won before this tournament was over a month ago in Washington, when he won against Ruusuvuori in straight sets. Since then, Giovanni has struggled with his form. Giovanni lost his opening match at the US Open against Etcheverry in straight sets. After winning his maiden title in Lyon, Giovanni had some solid results on the grass courts as well. Here in Chengdu, Giovanni won his opening match against Sun in three tight sets. Mpetshi Perricard is lurking around the top 50 in the rankings. He needs a solid result on these faster courts here in Asia, to get back into the top 50.
Yannick Hanfmann has won four of his last five matches. Last week in the Davis Cup, Hanfmann won both of his matches, and helped Germany to qualify for the knockout stage. Here in Chengdu, Yannick defeated Mochizuki in straight sets in the first round of the tournament. Yannick served well, and lost his serve only once.
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Giovanni has not shown much in his opening match here in Chengdu. He is in terrible form, and only his serve saved him from losing the match against the player who is outside the top 300. On the other hand, Hanfmann played solid tennis last week, so we expect him to win this match.
That being said, Hanfmann winning is a value bet.
