The Frenchman served 36 aces and held his serve throughout the whole match. It was an entertaining match overall, with Giovanni playing better under pressure. In the second round, Mpetshi Perricard won against Tiafoe in straight sets. He had a breakthrough last season and hopes to continue in that fashion.
