Day 5 at the ATP 500 event in Beijing will feature an absolutely stacked lineup, with three Top 5 players in action: Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz. The three are obviously clear favorites in their respective matchups, but they will certainly find some tough opposition here. It will surely be a great day of tennis in the Chinese capital.
Head-to-head: Medvedev 1-0 Cobolli
Medvedev won in very routine fashion when the pair faced at the US Open a few weeks ago and the same is likely to happen here. Although Medvedev hasn’t been quite at his best lately, he remains one of the best hard court players in the world and Cobolli hasn’t quite reached the level of a top player yet. He’s unlikely to produce enough consistency to seriously trouble Medvedev.
Prediction: Medvedev in 2
Head-to-head: Sinner 2-0 Lehecka
Sinner is playing his first match since WADA announced that they decided to appeal his doping case, so that might be something hanging over his head and affecting his focus here. In fact, his level has been quite far from his best so far this week and if that continues, we can be in for quite a tight match here as Lehecka is able to produce some very high level tennis at times.
Prediction: Sinner in 3

Head-to-head: Alcaraz 3-0 Khachanov
After his shocking US Open early loss, Alcaraz has been in amazing form at both the Laver Cup and here this week. He has been beating every opponent in comfortable fashion and he’s now facing an opponent who never even took a set against him. Khachanov can be quite dangerous when he plays at his very best and that’s the level he will have to produce to have any sort of chance here.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
