After that, Medvedev played in the Laver Cup, where he lost both of his matches against the Americans. Here in Beijing, Medvedev defeated Monfils in straight sets as we predicted. Daniil had his biggest results this season on the faster courts, such as this one. Last year in Beijing, Medvedev reached the final, where he lost against Sinner in two tiebreaks. That being said, Daniil has a lot of points to defend this week.
