Sinner – Safiullin: 28.09.2024 08:00 CEST
H2H: 2-0
Jannik Sinner has won 13 straight matches, and holds the number 1 ranking. The last tournament he played before Beijing was the US Open, where he won the title, winning against Fritz in the final as we predicted. After that, Sinner celebrated his second Grand Slam title, and took some time off. Here in Beijing, Jannik defeated Jarry in the opening round in three sets. This has been the most successful season for the young Italian, who became just the fourth player to win two hardcourt Grand Slams in a single season. Jannik is the defending champion here in Beijing.
Roman Safiullin has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Chengdu, Safiullin lost against Shang in the second round as we predicted. Here in Beijing, Roman failed to qualify for the main-draw tournament. However, he entered the main-draw as a lucky loser. Today, in his opening main-draw match, Safiullin defeated Wawrinka in straight sets. Roman was great under pressure, saving both breakpoints.
According to the bookies, Sinner is the big favorite in this matchup. Safiullin has a big serve, and loves to play under fast conditions such as this one. We believe that he will be able to keep this match tight.
That being said, Safiullin covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Mannarino – Medvedev: 28.09.2024 14:30 CEST
H2H: 4-3
Adrian Mannarino has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Chengdu, Adrian reached the quarterfinals, where he lost against Musetti in three tight sets. Mannarino has been struggling for the last couple of weeks, which led to him being almost outside the top 50 in the rankings. Here in Beijing, Mannarino defeated Sonego in three tight sets. After losing the first set 1-6, Adrian stepped up his tennis and turned the match around.
Daniil Medvedev has lost three of his last five matches. His last competitive tournament before Beijing was at the US Open, where he reached the quarterfinals, when he lost against Sinner as we predicted. After that, Medvedev played in the Laver Cup, where he lost both of his matches against the Americans. Here in Beijing, Medvedev defeated Monfils in straight sets as we predicted. Daniil had his biggest results this season on the faster courts, such as this one. Last year in Beijing, Medvedev reached the final, where he lost against Sinner in two tiebreaks. That being said, Daniil has a lot of points to defend this week.
According to the bookies, Medvedev is the big favorite in this matchup. We believe that he is currently in better form than Mannarino, and that he will dominate in this match. Medvedev won their last head-to-head meeting on the hard court easily, and we believe that he will repeat that performance tomorrow as well.
That being said, Medvedev covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Daniil Medvedev -4.5 games handicap @1.67 @bet365
