About Al Jazeera Academy and Ta’allum Group

Al Jazeera Academy is a member of the Ta’allum Group of Schools. Ta’allum Group is a growing and successful organization consisting of three renowned partner Schools. Due to over subscription, there are plans to open two new Academies in Doha in the near future.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, dynamic and creative Assistant Head Teacher for Year 1 & 2 for the Infant School who would like the opportunity to work in a progressive and student-centered Infant School. 

Typical responsibilities include:

• To work in partnership with the Senior Leadership team in leading and managing Infant School (Year 1 & 2), undertaking all accompanying professional duties

• To undertake the role of establishing and developing and coordinating its expansion and effective practice in respective Infant School

• To lead, motivate, support, challenge and develop staff to secure the highest standards and expectations

• Contribute to the effective and efficient management of the school

Demonstrate a thorough, up to date knowledge of current educational initiatives and UK National Curriculum, Ministry of Education Laws /Ta’allum Group Policies and take a leading role in planning their implementation within Infant School ( KS1)

• Take specific responsibility for leading learning within lower primary

• Provide regular progress reports and updates for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in the specified area of KS1 ensuring they are fully aware of all successes, issues and concerns

• To ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are maintained at the highest standards

• The Assistant Head will create and maintain a culture and environment that promotes and secures outstanding teaching, effective learning, and the highest standards of achievement, progress and good behaviour.

Job specification:-

* Successful candidates will hold a relevant Bachelor’s Degree, a Bachelor of Education or the international equivalent.

A successful candidate will:-

• Have excellent subject and curriculum knowledge

• Have excellent classroom practice

• Have knowledge in UK Curriculum 

• Have experience teaching second language speakers would be advantageous 

• Encourage and foster a teaching environment which is built on respect, inspiration and motivation

• Work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues

Paperwork Requirements: 

Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements. 

The selected applicant will be required to provide criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) before employment is confirmed. Candidates from outside the authority of the DBS will be required to provide an approved Certificate from the similar authority in the Country in which he/she is currently residing.
