We’re still a day away from the NBA regular season tipoff on Tuesday, but Monday brought with it some headlines from around the league as an important deadline hit.
Though the Philadelphia 76ers had none, there were 24 eligible players drafted back in 2021 that were on the clock Monday to sign a rookie-scale contract extension by 6 p.m. ET. Well, 19 of them, actually. Four (Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley and Franz Wagner) already signed extensions with their teams back in July, and one (Moses Moody) agreed to a deal Sunday afternoon.
So, how did it shake out for those 19 others? At the time of posting, 13 players eligible for rookie-scale contract extensions have yet to reach a deal with their teams. They are as follows:
Santi Aldama, Memphis Grizzlies
Chris Duarte, Chicago Bulls
Josh Giddey, Chicago Bulls
Quentin Grimes, Dallas Mavericks
Bones Hyland, Los Angeles Clippers
Isaiah Jackson, Indiana Pacers
Jonathan Kuminga, Golden State Warriors
Tre Mann, Charlotte Hornets
Davion Mitchell, Toronto Raptors
Day’Ron Sharpe, Brooklyn Nets
Jaden Springer, Boston Celtics
Cam Thomas, Brooklyn Nets
Ziaire Williams, Brooklyn Nets
