Are teams guarding the Boston Celtics different this season? The Celtics started off last season with a blistering rate of wins driven by an equally historic rate of taking — and making — shots from beyond the arc, riding that surge all the way to Banner 18 and the 2025 NBA title. And to start the NBA’s 2024-25 regular season, Boston began at a similarly blistering pace…that has since stalled out noticeably.
There has been much speculation as to what the cause of the Celtics’ midseason slump has been, and some feel it is due to how other ball clubs are guarding Boston this season.
