Black Friday is traditionally spent standing in long lines and taking advantage of sales to purchase holiday gifts.
And while that very much will be the case on Friday, it won’t be the only thing consuming time on the holiday weekend — especially for college football fans.
The reason? There are 14 college football games on the Friday slate during Rivalry Week.
Headlining Friday’s slate of FBS games is the Egg Bowl between No. 16 Ole Miss (8-3, 4-3 in SEC play) and Mississippi State (2-9, 0-7) at 3:30 p.m. ET at in Oxford, Mississippi.
Four teams from the most recent College Football Playoff top 25 rankings are in play on Friday, including No. 11 Boise State, who is projected as the No. 4 seed in the 12-team CFP bracket. The Broncos host Oregon State on the “Smurf Turf” for a noon ET kickoff. No. 6 Georgia continues “Rivalry Week” with an in-state rivalry matchup against Georgia Tech under the lights at Sanford Stadium.
And then there’s Colorado, which remained in the CFP top 25 at No. 25 but fell out of the US LBM Coaches Poll after its Week 13 loss to Kansas, hosts Oklahoma State at Folsom Field. A win by Deion Sanders’ squad will keep a path open for the Buffaloes to make the Big 12 championship game heading into Saturday’s Big 12 games.
